I’ve been playing mas for years. My daughter has seen me pack and unpack feathers and bedazzled bras for fifty million times. This year, she asked if she could go. Of course I said yes! My little 25% Caribbean heart (my granddad on my mom’s side is Jamaican) jumped with pride.
So, I picked a smaller one for her first time, Raleigh, NC. She absolutely adored it! She still says that she’ll never play mas (I’m sure that’ll change), but she definitely wants to come back.
